A few of our Liturgical Committee Members had the pleasure of attending the Archbishop James Patterson Lyke Conference in Tampa, FL.
The Lyke Conference, the nation’s premier Black Catholic liturgical event, is named after the late liturgist Archbishop James P. Lyke, OFM, the second of the three Black archbishops in US history—was founded in 2004 as an outlet where attendees could be trained in African-American patrimony.
The mission of the Lyke Foundation, which sponsors the Lyke Conference, is to annually gather those involved in the liturgical practices within the Black Catholic community.
My Dear Parish,
This year, we embrace a beautiful theme throughout our Bishop’s Ministries Appeal for 2025: Ministries of Hope.
As St. Paul promises in Romans, ‘Hope does not disappoint.’
Through this appeal, we become bearers of hope across our East Bay community. Your generosity brings renewed hope to thousands in our East Bay community, transforming lives through acts of love and service. Your support empowers more than 70 vital ministries that: Strengthen evangelization efforts, sharing the Gospel and deepening the faith of individuals and families in our communities
Support seminarians preparing to guide our faith community, Offer counseling to those seeking healing and renewal, Inspire our youth to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. Last year, our parish family contributed $18,367.28 to this sacred work. This year, we’re hoping to reach $12,200. When we exceed this goal, every additional dollar returns to our parish to serve our local needs. Your gift, no matter the size, transforms lives and shares God’s love. Thank you for being God’s instruments of hope. Envelopes are available in the back of the church or you can give online by clicking the Banner Below.
May God bless you abundantly,
Fr. Jayson J. Landeza
