A Blessed Mother's Day Morning to All!
Mothers, Grandmothers, Godmothers, Mother Figures,
we wish all of you a very blessed Mother's Day.
May your special day be filled with lots of love, laughter and joy.
May God continue to shower his blessings upon you and give you his peace.
Amen.
CONGRATULATIONS again to the 2024 1st Holy Communion Class!
Lord Jesus, Bless those children who came forward to receive Holy Communion for the first time last weekend. May this be an initial step into a life-long love of the Holy Eucharist. Give them a hunger for this sacred food so that they turn to You for comfort, guidance, and wisdom as they grow into full discipleship.
Amen.
Our Next SPIRITUAL GROWTH Session:

HELP US OUT!
We are trying to get our Bible Study in gear. What are your thoughts? When should the Bible Study be held? (Not on Sunday after Mass) - Day or Evening? - What day of the week? - Time? This will be a basic Bible Study. Where would you like to begin? What are some basic questions from Scripture you'd like to discuss?
Drop your thoughts in the "Bible Study Box" on the back table in the Church.
DID YOU KNOW?!
One of St. Benedict's First Eucharist students from last year's class has a published book on Amazon. Check it out! STEP OUT by Timothy Boykin. Great Job Timothy!!! We're so proud of you!

Bishop's Ministries Appeal
The Bishop’s Ministries Appeal is a yearly campaign that raises funds for a variety of ministries, services, and programs that benefit many throughout the East Bay.
There are five specific areas that receive funds from the Appeal:
1] Religious Education & Formation; 2] Clergy Formation & Support;
3] Pastoral Ministries & Services; 4] Priest Retirement & Care;
and 5] Support for Catholic Schools & Parishes in need.
Funds raised are never directed to any other use.
This year, Bishop Barber has selected the theme for the Appeal – Many Ministries, One Church – as a reminder that each of us is an essential member of the Body of Christ that is our Church. Our charitable works are strengthened when we work together and when we work toward heaven.
In 2023 our parish raised $7,497.00 for the Appeal. Our overall parish goal is $12,200.00. I know that we can reach that goal, and when we exceed it, our parish will receive 100% of all funds over goal to address some of our own needs.
A gift to the Appeal truly extends to both the local and larger community.
Thank you for your time and response as faithful stewards of God’s Church.
Offering envelopes are on the table at the back of the church.

Congratulations and Farewell
This weekend is Deacon Christopher Alt's last weekend here at St. Benedict.
He will be preaching at the 10am Mass today.
As you know, his official assignment was with St. Benedict, but we thought it would be a good idea for him to also experience another cultural context for his formation.
So he shared his ministry with Divine Mercy Parish as well.
Deacon Christopher has been a tremendous gift and blessing to us here at St. Benedict. He will be ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, June 8th, at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Leonard Pete, Fr. Jayson and others will be there. Please wish him your best and assure Christopher of your prayerful support!
Immediately following the 10am Mass today, we will have a LIGHT reception in Fr. Jay Matthews Hall to show Deacon Christopher our appreciation.
There will be Thank You cards to sign as well. We hope to see you there!
We love you Christopher! We appreciate you! God Bless you!
